Rushbearing parade from the King Bill to St Barnabas, into Littleborough and the Festival in Hare Hill Park.
11.00 – 11.30 Dancing at King Bill pub
11.30 – 12.00 Cart parade from King Bill pub to St Barnabas Church, Blessing and dancing at St Barnabus Church
12.00 – 12.30 Parade from St Barnabas Church to Littleborough Square
12.30 – 13.15 Dancing and Mumming outside Wheatsheaf Pub
13.15 – 13.30 Parade from Square to Hare Hill Park
13.30 – 14.30 Cart and procession arrive in Park
12.30 Littleborough Band on Bandstand
14.30 Cart arrival in Park
U3A Ukulele band on bandstand
Mummers at Band stand
Youth Folk Groups at Band Stand
17.00 Cart parade to Cricket Club
Sunday 23 July:
10.00 – 10.30 Rushbearing Parade starts with dancing at Wine Press, then parading to the festival in the Square in Littleborough
13.00 The cart arrives in square with dancing from various groups until 6.00pm
Littleborough Rushbearing was revived in 1991 by Rochdale Morris. The project was successfully achieved with the help of Littleborough Action Group and has become an important part of Littleborough’s calendar of events.
It is now organised by LEAF in conjunction with Littleborough Oakenhoof Cloggers.
